First Edible Schoolyard Opens in NYC

According to Good Magazine, the first Edible Schoolyard will soon open in New York City at P.S. 216 in Brooklyn. The Edible Schoolyards project, founded by Chez Panisse chef Alice Waters in 1995, provides children with a hands-on opportunity to learn about food production and healthy eating habits. Preliminary research indicates that Edible Schoolyards can change students’ eating habits.
